Hey all!
This Saturday, the 22nd of November, I went to the Rock A Rail snowboard event in The Hague, The Netherlands. The event was organized by Monster Energy and Lib Tech, and this is a yearly event for pro Snowboarders. I decided to take my Canon EOS 100D camera with me, so I could shoot some pictures :). The event was amazing, and drew a crowd of around 3000 people, who watched from the bleachers, or on the sides of the event. Especially for this event, DIDID designed a large concrete staircase, with 3 rails. At the top of the staircase they had a snowy ramp, where the boarders could start from. They also had a long flat down rail to the left, a double kinked rail in the middle, gap to down rail, a close-out, an even bigger close-out and an insane wallride with a rail on top, so the boarders could perform jumps from those. As you can see in the image below, there was no snow on the staircase, so this could be very painful if you missed the railing. No one got hurt though luckily, but they had a few EMS people close by, just in case.
As you can see in the below pictures, the snowboarders did some amazing tricks during the 3 heats, so the crowd had an amazing night! In the first heat we had some excellent snowboarders, like David Struber, Bob van Unnik, Gulli Gudmunsson, Eiki Helgason, Eirik Nesse, Jonte Lindhe, Sparrow Knox and Ted Borland.
In the second heat snowboarders like, Ethan Morgan, Forest Bailey, Toni Kerkela, Joshua Pires, Kas Lemmens, Zebbe Landmark, Jesse Augustinus, Nils Arvidsson, Simon Houlind and Eik Karlsson, performed their amazing tricks!
In the third and final heat, we saw some cool moves and tricks from snowboarders like, Andy Nudds, Len Roald JØrgensen, Michi Shatz, Will Smith, Benny Urban, Max de Vries, Steef van der Meer, and Dominik Wagner.
After the third heat came the finals, but I was not able to get a good spot to take pictures, so I missed that, but here are the results:
First place was for Kas Lemmens, second place was for Max de Vries and third place was for Forest Bailey.
I missed the women participating, but here are the results for the women.
First place was for Rachida Aoulad, second place was for Dina Treland, and third place was for Ivika Jürgnson.
Anyway, I hope you like the images, so feel free to share this post and leave a reply :). You are free to use the images on your own website, but please leave a link back to this page please 🙂
