Huys ten Donck (Ridderkerk, The Netherlands)

Huys ten Donck is located between the villages Bolnes and Slikkerveer in the municipality of Ridderkerk and surrounded by a 22 hectare park in the style of an English landscape, called the Donckse Bos. On the estate there is also a coach house (Het Koetshuis), wood shed (Houtloods), a tiend house (Het Tiendgebouw), an event terrain (Het Voorterrein) and a private port ‘Het Donckse Haventje’ by the river Maas.

In 1746, on the foundations of the former castle, a new house in Louis XIV style was built by order of the mayor of Rotterdam and Mr. Ridderkerk, Mr. Otto Groeninx van Zoelen (1704-1758). This was called the Huys ten Donck.
