The international logistics company Hoyer is one of the worldwide market leaders in moving liquids by road, rail and sea. Walter Hoyer founds the company “Bruno Hoyer Internationale Fachspedition” in Germany in 1946. Walter Hoyer takes over the company name of his father, Bruno Hoyer, who has operated a Hamburg milk wholesaling company of considerable proportions since 1922.

In 1959 Hoyer made their first chemical transports and one year later the first international branch office opened in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Walter Hoyer is also the co-founder of “Kombiverkehr” in 1969 and is seen as a pioneer in this field. In 1972 was the purchase of the first seven ‘HOYER-tainers’ and the completion of the first tank cleaning facility of HOYER UK in Huddersfield, Great Britain.

In 1980 was the opening of the first overseas company, HOYER USA in New York. In 1988 Rotterdams Tank Transport completed the construction of a silo bulk handling installation in Rotterdam. Two years later the first transport of refrigerated foodstuffs took place in reefer tanks.
In 1991 Walter Hoyer became Chairman of the Board of Directors and Thomas Hoyer became the Managing Director. In 1994 was the founding of HOYER Multilog for the marketing of Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC). In 2002 Walter Hoyer, the founder of HOYER Group, passes away at the age of 87 years. Four years later Ortwin Nast, the first non-family member, took his position as the CEO of HOYER Group.
