H&M in The Netherlands

Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) is a Swedish fashion chain with nearly 5,100 stores in 74 different countries and approximately 126,000 employees in 2019. The company employs various fashion designers such as Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Elio Fiorucci, Roberto Cavalli and Comme des Garçons.

The first H&M in the Netherlands was opened in 1989 and in 2021, the retail chain had 127 branches in the Netherlands. In 2014, the largest store of Hennes and Maurits in Europe was opened in Rotterdam. The shopping arcade “The Mall” next to the Beurstraverse (Koopgoot) was renovated for this purpose. This flagship store has a gross floor area of 6,330 m2 (4,500 m2 retail area) for the public.
Following Zara, H&M launched a home collection in the spring of 2009, starting with bed linen and towels and later furniture items (only available online or in the catalog). An exception was the H&M Flagship Store on the Dam in Amsterdam and the branch in the Beurstraverse in Rotterdam, Gravenstraat The Hague and Heuvelgalerie Eindhoven. After London and Stockholm, H&M opened the first H&M Home only concept store in the Netherlands in 2020 at Kalverstraat in Amsterdam.

H&M aux Pays-Bas

H&M concluded in 2015 with Maison de Bonneterie Real Estate B.V. a long-term lease for two monumental stores in Amsterdam and The Hague. The same year H&M opened two more spectacular flagship stores of the highest level at these iconic locations. The retail spaces were luxuriously furnished in harmony with the beautiful historical details and offered the very best to the shoppers in terms of interior and design.
