De Hofstede children’s farm is located on the edge of the Asserbos in Assen, The Netherlands.It was opened on May 12, 1982 and is named after the founder of the Asserbos, Wolter Hendrik Hofstede.The petting zoo has various animal pastures, a bird island, a playground and a beautifully landscaped park around the new pond.
